Alan X has 30 years experience and established his DJ name with Pleasure Zone club, attracting Marc Almond, Boy George, Jimmy Sommerville, Steven Daldry and Ian McKellen! Alan X has DJed alongside Tony De Vit at Sundissential, the Sharp Boys, Rachel Auburn, and Andy Farley at Birmingham Pride, at London’s notorious Salvation tent and Mardi Gras. Residencies have included Crash, Beyond, Heaven, Salvation, Trade, Fabric & DTPM. Overseas Alan’s gigs are legendary. He has played alongside Danny Tenaglia and Ralphi Rosario at NYC’s massive Roseland, in Berlin at E-Werk, and for Mardi Gras Sydney Harbour Party Recovery at Home. In Ibiza Alan played with Smokin Jo in the Trade room at Privilege, The Burning Man event and and in South Africa for Therapy. Alan X had a US Billboard Number One with Clubland’s ‘Set Me Free’ and a UK Number One with Judy Cheeks’ ‘So In Love’. Xtrax releases include his debut ‘Lost In Music’ which Danny Rampling played 6 weeks in a row on BBC Radio 1 and ‘2 Da Top’ a collaboration with Radio 1 star Fergie which sold out in a week! Current work with studio partner Paul Heron includes a remix of Grace Jones’ Hurricane, a Tribal version of We Are The People by Empire Of The Sun, a remix of Colton Ford’s US released cover of REM’s Losing My Religion, a Club mix of Noisettes’ Saturday Night and a great House version of the next Ultra Nate single, Hey DJ. For almost 15 years Alan’s revered Vital Vinyl / Housework columns and weekly Music Chart in QX International, the UK’s number one Gay Music magazine and web publication, continue to be followed by the Music Business A&R Managers and DJs across the globe.
