SoundCloud 2026 Report: Electronic Music on the Rise

SoundCloud’s 2026 Music Intelligence Report shows electronic music is now the platform’s fastest-growing genre. By 2025, more than one in three tracks uploaded were electronic.

Regional scenes are growing across Europe, the U.K., Southeast Asia and Latin America, blending local sounds with electronic styles. Uplifting trance, melodic techno, and hard techno are rising, and #DJset uploads are increasing, signalling growth in live mixes and performances.

The report also highlights cross-border momentum. UK garage and minimal tech house are seeing streaming gains in both the U.S. and the U.K., and artists from the U.K. and Ireland continue to attract international audiences.

Many producers are using SoundCloud’s direct-to-fan tools — from exclusive drops to live set uploads — to build communities and shape trends.

Hip-hop remains prominent, increasingly blending with electronic styles and the rise of hybrid genres/niche communities highlights a shift toward digital-first, participatory music culture
