Daft Punk x Fred again: Studio collaboration hinted after London performance

A possible studio collaboration between Fred again.. and Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter may be in development following a recent joint appearance in London. Messages shared on social media suggest the two artists could continue working together after performing together at Alexandra Palace.

Bangalter joined Fred again.. for a back-to-back DJ set during the final night of the USB002 residency. After the show, Fred posted screenshots of text messages exchanged between the pair. In the messages, Fred suggested they meet again once they had recovered from the performance to spend time in the studio.

Bangalter replied by sending a clip from the film Casablanca, referencing the closing line “We’ll always have Paris”. The message has led to speculation that the artists could meet in Paris to work on new material.

The exchange followed a week in which the pair spent time preparing a one-off performance for the Alexandra Palace show. The set featured edits and mash-ups of tracks including Aerodynamic, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, and Delilah (pull me out of this).

The London performance marked another recent crossover between the two artists after previously sharing the stage in Paris last year. While no official project has been confirmed, their messages suggest further collaboration could follow.
