Platform terms for all Electric services

1. About us
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Electric platform, including our website (thisiselectric.co.uk) and mobile applications.

2. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or using the Electric platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on our platform. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
3. Eligibility and age requirements
General eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the Electric platform.
Paid services and DJ opportunities
For any paid services or DJ opportunities (including Guest Mix, CORE Residency, PRO Residency, and Premium subscriptions), you must be 18 years old or older.
Exception for under-18 DJs: If you are under 18 and wish to apply for a DJ opportunity (such as Guest Mix or Residency), you may do so only with the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian. In such cases:
- The parent or guardian must review and agree to the relevant terms on your behalf
- The parent or guardian must make all payments
- The parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring compliance with these Terms
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete information when creating your account
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
You must notify us immediately at support@electricradio.co.uk if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
5. Community standards and acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against other users
- Post or share illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Spam, phish, or engage in fraudulent activity
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the platform or its security
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without our permission
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these standards.
6. Live chat and community interactions
Our live chat feature allows users to interact during shows. When using chat, you must:
- Be respectful and constructive
- Avoid spam, harassment, or disruptive behaviour
- Comply with our community standards (section 5)
We moderate chat and may remove messages or restrict access for users who violate these rules.
7. Activity feed and privacy controls
The Electric platform includes an activity feed that may display certain user activities, such as:
- Profile views
- Show joins
- Replays
Incognito mode: You can enable incognito mode in your account settings to hide these activities from the public activity feed. Please note that incognito mode does not hide your chat messages or other content you actively post.
8. User content and uploads
Profile content
You are responsible for all content you add to your profile (such as bio, images, and links). You must ensure that:
- You have the necessary rights and permissions for any content you upload
- Your content complies with our community standards
- Your content does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights
External links
Community DJs may add links to external platforms (such as Mixcloud and SoundCloud). These links are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for the content or availability of third-party services.
Direct uploads (Guest and Resident DJs)
Guest and Resident DJs may upload mixes directly to Electric. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, distribute, and publicly perform your content as necessary to provide our services. Takedowns and moderation
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our community standards. We may also remove content in response to valid legal requests or to protect our rights and the rights of others.
9. Intellectual property
All content, features, and functionality of the Electric platform (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, software, and design) are owned by We Are MTR (UK) Limited or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform without our express written permission.
10. Paid services
Electric offers various paid services, including:
- Electric Premium – listener subscription (see Electric Premium Terms)
- Guest Mix – one-off DJ opportunities (see Guest Mix Terms)
- CORE Residency – subscription-based residency (see CORE Residency Terms)
- PRO Residency – subscription-based residency with fixed slots (see PRO Residency Terms)
Each paid service is governed by its own specific terms, which you must accept before purchasing or subscribing. These Platform Terms apply in addition to those service-specific terms.
11. Termination and suspension
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms or any service-specific terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Pose a risk to the platform or other users
You may also close your account at any time by contacting us at support@electricradio.co.uk. Upon termination, your right to use the platform will cease immediately.
12. Disclaimers
The Electric platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of content
We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available or that it will meet your specific requirements.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, We Are MTR (UK) Limited and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £100 if you have not made any payments).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Definitions
- "Electric", "we", "us", "our" – refers to We Are MTR (UK) Limited and the Electric platform
- "Platform" – refers to the Electric website, mobile applications, and related services
- "User", "you", "your" – refers to any person who creates an account or uses the Electric platform
- "Content" – refers to any text, images, audio, video, or other materials uploaded or shared on the platform
- "DJ" – refers to users with a DJ profile, including Community DJs, Guest DJs, and Resident DJs (CORE/PRO)
